In this present work, cassava starch (CSH) coated chitosan (CH) blended with Closite 30B (C30B) were prepared by employing the solution casting method. The physical and chemical properties of CSH coated CH/C30B were investigated using XRD and tensile strength. The biodegradation properties of sample were measured by micro-organic culture testing, enzymatic absorbance in water, soil burial and compost testing in both laboratory and field condition. CSH coated CH-C30B nanocomposite films exhibited favourable physical properties. However, the results of tensile strength and elongation at break tests demonstrated the fact that when C30B content increased, the tensile strength increased up to 8.5% at same time the strength increased by coating CSH on CH/C30B again. The morphology study showed exfoliation form of CH/C30B and CS coated CH/C30B nanocomposites.
