Plagiarism is strictly prohibited in all forms. This includes:
- Direct copying of text without proper citation
- Paraphrasing ideas without acknowledgment
- Self-plagiarism (reuse of previously published work without disclosure)
- Use of data, figures, or tables without permission or citation
All manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection tools before peer review.
Acceptable Similarity Limit:
- Overall similarity should generally be below 10–15%
- No single source should exceed 3–5%
Manuscripts exceeding these limits may be:
- Returned for revision
- Rejected without review
- Reported for ethical concerns in serious cases
Authors are responsible for ensuring originality and proper citation of all sources.
2. Ethical Guidelines and Compliance
NRME Journals follows internationally recognized ethical standards, including principles recommended by organizations such as:
- Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
- International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
Authors must:
- Submit only original and unpublished work
- Properly cite all references
- Disclose conflicts of interest
- Ensure ethical approval (if applicable)
3. Retraction Policy
A published article may be retracted if significant issues are identified after publication, including:
- Proven plagiarism
- Fabrication or falsification of data
- Duplicate publication
- Ethical violations (e.g., lack of consent, misconduct)
- Major errors that invalidate the findings
4. Retraction Process
The retraction process is conducted carefully and transparently:
- Investigation: The editorial office reviews the concern and gathers evidence
- Author Communication: Authors are contacted and given an opportunity to respond
- Editorial Decision: Based on findings, the editorial board decides the appropriate action
- Retraction Notice: A formal retraction notice is published, clearly stating the reason
- Article Status: The original article remains accessible but is clearly marked as “Retracted”
5. Corrections and Errata
If errors are minor and do not affect the overall findings, the journal may publish:
- Corrections (Erratum) for publisher errors
- Corrigendum for author errors
These are linked to the original article to maintain transparency.
6. Author Responsibilities
Authors must:
- Ensure originality of their work
- Avoid plagiarism in any form
- Maintain accurate data records
- Cooperate fully in investigations if concerns arise
Failure to comply may result in:
- Manuscript rejection
- Retraction of published articles
- Notification to affiliated institutions
7. Editorial Independence
All decisions related to plagiarism checks, corrections, or retractions are made independently by the editorial board. Financial considerations or publication fees do not influence these decisions.
8. Transparency and Integrity
NRME Journals maintains a transparent publication process. All ethical issues, corrections, and retractions are handled openly to preserve trust in the scientific record and ensure compliance with global indexing standards, including Scopus requirements.
