Abstract
Nanotechnology is revolutionizing public health and community medicine by offering innovative solutions for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and environmental monitoring. This review explores the diverse applications of nanotechnology in public health, including the development of nanosensors for rapid pathogen detection, targeted drug delivery systems for chronic disease management, and nanoformulated vaccines that enhance immunogenicity and stability. Additionally, nanotechnology contributes to environmental health through advanced water purification, air quality monitoring, and sanitation solutions. The integration of nanotechnology into public health frameworks promotes precision medicine, health equity, and sustainable health solutions. However, challenges such as safety and toxicity concerns, regulatory and ethical issues, cost and scalability limitations, and public acceptance must be addressed to ensure the safe and equitable deployment of nanotechnology in public health. Future perspectives include the development of biocompatible nanoparticles, integration with digital health platforms, establishment of clear regulatory frameworks, and community-focused implementation strategies to maximize impact in underserved areas.
